Selling an original London News Coronation book from 1937. This is a huge, glorious book - the 1937 Illustrated London News Coronation Record Number - the coronation of King George VI & Queen Elizabeth. The book has a stiff paper cover - navy blue w/metallic gold lettering, designs & a medallion of the King & Queen. 10-1/4" x 14-1/2". 72 pages, illustrations/photos on every page - including 24 color plates. Pictures of the interior of Westminster Abbey, King George in his coronation robes, coronation medals, past kings & queens, the procession itself, the beautiful royal carriage. Color plates even have a tissue paper cover page. Also - great ads from iconic British brands. Descriptive text & captions under the pictures. Condition - the book is in fantastic condition for its age. It has been stored in wax paper, and stored in a cupboard. The inside pages are in excellent condition. However, the spine binding has small tears on the top and bottom of the spine. The spine edges do not affect the pages inside.
