With the eye open a void is revealed representing the creation of space from nothing as well as Vision in all directions. The steps at the base represent a path to enlightenment. Each piece is used metaphorically to describe a journey. There are only three of these pyramids in existence. They are extremely difficult to make. The first one was handmade and does not have a solid base. The second one was made of nylon in order to test the capabilities of the laser sintering process. The third one, the one you see in the picture above, is the most recent and the only one that is complete.
