Housekeeper – Full-Time

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY Housekeeper - Full-Time $16.58/hour + vacation + sick days + benefits + pension M'akola Housing Society - Ts'I'ts'uwatul' Lelum Assisted Living - Duncan , BC The schedule for this position is Tuesday - Saturday 8:00am - 4:00pm. M'akola offers the following benefits for eligible positions: * Paid vacation and paid sick leave * Municipal Pension Plan (MPP) * Extended health benefits, including prescription coverage and dental, among others * Employee Assistance Program (counselling for employees and family members) Responsibilities * Light weekly cleaning of resident suites following the checklist provided * Quarterly cleaning of resident suites; wash walls, windows, floors, vacuum furniture, thorough dusting, cleaning out refrigerator and throwing out expired food if any, wipe down inside and out of cupboard doors and cleaning oven/stove top * Initiating acute infection control procedures in compliance with the viral outbreak infection control procedures during an outbreak of viral infections * Maintaining an awareness of resident's allergies or other sensitivities in respect to cleaning products used within their suites * Accurate and timely completion of all documentation assigned or required in the course of duties including daily logs as well as unusual or serious incident reports * Responding to resident emergencies as required * Maintaining resident and staff confidentiality * And other duties that may be assigned. Qualifications * 2+ years of experience in housekeeping, preferably in a seniors/supportive housing environment * Experience working with Elders, seniors and persons with disabilities in an assisted living setting * Willing to obtain Occupational Level 1 first aid certificate, Food Safe 1, WHMIS, and Criminal Record Check We hire employees of all cultures including Inuit, Metis, Indigenous, status, non-status, and non-Indigenous.
