Hillcrest Elementary Out of School Care (HEOSC) is seeking experienced Out of School Child Care Workers. The position is 17.5 hours per week. Hours are: 2:00pm to 5:30pm Monday through Friday. The successful applicants will complete shadow shifts and an orientation in February 2019. Regular Monday-Friday shifts will begin as soon as possible. There are monthly planning sessions, monthly staff meetings, child minding opportunities, and some evening work for special events. This position is a contract from February 2020-June 26, 2020. The starting wage is $17.00/hour, increasing to $17.25 per hour upon a successful 3 month probationary period. If staff return a following year the wage will increase again. This position plans, and delivers quality, child care services directly. HEOSC values quality programming, and as such experience with child care programming is a strong asset. HEOSC uses a Stations model and staff are expected to offer varying choices for activities - including daily stations with arts & crafts, quiet activities, creative play, construction, outdoor/gym, and games. Staff are expected to adhere to the society's plans and policies, and Child Care Licensing regulation requirements. The Child Care Workers report directly to the Out of School Care Programmer/Supervisor. After School, HEOSC runs programs out of 3 rooms with 20 children, 2 staff each. Before school, 4 staff care for 45 children. The programs are based out of Hillcrest Elementary.
