V8Z 1S3 (250) 475-8818 Tel (250) 475-8819 Fax Head Saw Filer - Benchperson Position Job Description: We are seeking an experienced saw filer-benchperson for a full-time position in Victoria, B.C. Canada Wage: $ 26 per hour Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Responsibilities: - A strong commitment to working safely with the ability to follow and promote site safety policies and procedures - Maintain, troubleshoot and repair machinery - Assist production personnel with any sawing flow related problems - Maintain open lines of communication with all departments and personnel necessary to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment and facilities - Handle saw filing room workload to Head filer standards - Teach and mentor less experienced filers and apprentices Skills Required: - Able to operate CNC circular saw grinding equipment - Able to operate various tool and cutter grinders - Able to bench and sharpen circular saws - Able to operate automatic down feed flat grinder - Able to repair and sharpen router bits, knives, cutters and other tools - Able to weld bandsaw blades - Able to maintain job safety, quality and efficiency - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively in an energetic team environment - Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, CNC, pneumatic and hydraulic systems - Ability to function well under pressure - Self-motivated individual with well-developed organizational, time management and analytical skills - Enjoys being creative and innovative, with the drive to improve efficiencies through process improvements - Ability to teach less experienced filers - Minimum five years experience working in a sharpening facility To apply for this position please forward your resume and references to the following email: theedge@shawbiz.ca or fax to 1-250-475-8819
