HazMat Technician / Responder

HazMat Technician - BCHAZMAT Management Ltd. - Sidney, BC Immediate Opening. We are seeking a candidate for a HazMat Technician to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities * Hazmat response: using PPE and safety procedures, respond to hazardous material incidents * Sharps retrieval: dealing with used and disposed of needles * Chemical neutralizing and/or disposal * Assisting with Safety Training programs offered by BC Hazmat * Office administration - answering phones, preparing reports or quotes, duties as assigned. * Warehouse duties - sweeping, organizing, deliveries, cleaning Qualifications * Ability to handle multiple tasks at once, work under pressure, and meet deadlines * Basic office & computer skills - word, excel, power point * Ability to work with people and speak in front of a class * Successful Criminal Records Check * Valid class 5 driver's license and reliable vehicle * High School Diploma or Equivalent * BCIT OHS professional accreditation or equivalent * Ability to lift 50 pounds * Ability to work overtime hours when required & to be on-call when required * You must be a team player, reliable and trustworthy * Receptive to working in challenging environments Assets * Air brake ticket * Previous office experience * Previous Hazmat training or experience * Capability to work alone or as a team * Good public and customer service relations skills Please email your cover letter and resume.
