Ty is a 10-yr old male brown tabby. He stumbled upon his family as a young boy, and though being given his necessities and love, has never quite had a place of his own. He has been passed between family members who cared for him a few years at a time, but he is hoping to find a new forever home for his golden years. Ty needs a low-to-moderately busy home with older kids or adults only, preferably with some cat experience. Despite his age, he is still frisky and playful, and can sometimes get a bit rough! But after all that play comes snuggling. He loves to cuddle up in your lap or beside you on the couch, and may like sleeping on your bed, too. Ty doesn't mind other cats and dogs, though not all cats like his over-confident personality. Likely he (and you) will be happiest when he is an only cat. Preferably Ty will be an indoor-only cat (occasional or supervised outdoor time OK), as he tends to "bite off more than he can chew" with local cats or raccoons when left alone. He has been strictly indoors for the last 4 months to recover from and prevent any more injuries. He is now in good health again. Like all cats, Ty requires the following (minimum): 2 litter boxes 1 large cat tree 2 smaller posts/scratchers I recommend the following for any cat and family: A vet check-up with his new family and their preferred veterinarian At least 50% wet food diet (this reduces dehydration, urinary tract problems, and weight issues). Remember that cats like blankets, toys, treats, wet and dry food, clean water, clean litter, attention and love! Ty is already neutered and at his age does not need new vaccines. If you choose to let him outside, please discuss further vaccination with your vet, and consider preventative flea treatment. Thank you for reading about Ty. If you think you may be a good fit for each other and have questions, I would be more than happy to hear from you. I do not require an adoption fee, but I will require that you provide adequate conditions for him as listed above; pictures or a meet & greet with me* would be great. *I am not Ty's family, but a friend who has agreed to help re-home him. Email preferred to begin, and then we can chat by phone if you'd like.
