HOUSEKEEPERS RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of Care QUALIFICATIONS: Previous experience as a housekeeper/cleaner Experience working with older adults in independent living or in a care setting preferred Able to work independently and as a team member Neat and clean appearance and physically able to manage the requirements of the position. Competency in oral and written English Current WHIMS, First Aid and CPR, is an asset Current Criminal Record Check DUTIES Under the general supervision of the Director of Care, complete the daily assigned cleaning tasks: Clean one common area per day, Halls, laundry rooms, handrails and elevator floor. Alternate floors each day to cover 4 floors in 4 days. Clean the designated resident suites, 5 to 6 per day. Remove garbage and recycling from designated suites Perform light housekeeping in each suite including cleaning the bathroom, vacuuming carpets, sweeping and mopping floors and dusting. Respond to emergencies when directed Report needed supplies to the Director of Care If a resident is feeling unwell or a change in their wellbeing is noticed, report these concerns to the Director of Care. Communicate any resident concerns or maintenance concerns to the Director of Care Follow Daily Task Assignment Sheet for each day while working. Follow Infection Control Guidelines while working. Respond to requests from the RN/LPN on duty for bodily fluid clean up. Report to the Director of Care if a resident refuses housekeeping service Clean vacant suites for move in at the request of the Director of Care. Maintain confidentiality regarding all residents according to the Lodge policy. Report any incidents of a resident being at risk to the Director of Care.
