SERVICE TECHNICIAN - Capital Iron Downtown Victoria

Capital Iron Victoria is looking to add a Service Technician to our Service Department. This position works very closely with our Hot Tub and BBQ Sales Departments to provide service on the products we sell. The ideal person will have a willingness to learn, impeccable attention to detail, good mechanical/troubleshooting skills and great interpersonal/customer service skills. Qualified applicants will possess a solid work ethic, be able to lift/move at least 75lbs unassisted, have above average written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrate reliable performance in a team environment. Must possess the ability to manage time wisely, function independently, maintain detailed work/service ticket records, and handle customer requests in a professional manner. Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract. This position reports to the Technical Service Manager, and is a full time, permanent position. Product specific training is available. A large part of the position is Hot Tub/BBQ product diagnostics/repairs, as well as Concierge Services. Responsibilities may include: -Performing repairs/maintenance on Hot Tubs/BBQs at customer locations and at our store. -Performing diagnostics on malfunctioning Hot Tubs/BBQs. -Determining causes for malfunctions. -Performing repairs as suggested by diagnostics/assessment. -Repairs may be electrical, plumbing/mechanical in nature. -Completion of relevant paperwork/reports will be an essential part of your job. -Scheduled water cleaning; using chemical such as chlorine -Testing water quality/pH balances -Cleaning out filtration units -Servicing heating/circulation systems -Checking corrosion and/or cracks -Ensuring equipment are in good repair/working order -Seasonal openings/closings of spas -Concierge services on Hot Tubs, BBQ units/Outdoor Kitchens -Delivery of chemicals, supplies/equipment -Recording/maintaining records for cleaning supplies/parts -Attending to immediate water hygiene incidents -Logging/reporting equipment faults/water quality problems -Billing/collection of service fees/chemical sales Starting Hourly Wage: $18.00 to $25.00
