My original piece of art is a circular plaster cast of spring flowers, blossoming with amazing details of nature's delicate textures and patterns. It's a lovely way to retain the exquisite fresh beauty of spring flowers, long after they are spent. An ideal and unusual gift for any lover of flowers or gardening. The blossoms are meticulously picked fresh, thoughtfully arranged, then carefully pressed into a circular frame of wet clay. I really enjoy choosing the plants and considering the best arrangement. Pure plaster of an exact consistency is gently poured in. It settles into all the plants' folds and dips, before slowly hardening. Hours later, when the clay mold is meticulously peeled free, it reveals a stunning bouquet in 3D, high relief. Plant details are remarkable—intricate veins on leaves, fragile petal folds and strong graceful stems. I love this part, seeing the floral bouquet playing out in a reverse image. For this particular piece of art, I chose to paint it with a burnished sepia look, with highlights of violet and magenta. This artwork is wired, ready to hang on a wall, or will look equally good displayed on a shelf or mantle. (Size 18 inch diameter by one-half inch width.) Although created with hard casting plaster, this artwork is suitable for indoors only. Do not place near heat source or in rooms with condensation. To clean, dust lightly and avoid over handling.
