$20 · Gallery Administrator

The Cowichan Valley Arts Council is accepting applications for the part-time position of Gallery Administrator. CVAC runs two busy art spaces and a workshop in the Cowichan Community Centre. The Gallery Administrator reports directly to the CVAC Board. Part-time: Three days a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday). Occasional evening or weekend work. Start date: August 2019 Key Duties and Responsibilities * Manage the day-to-day tasks associated with running an art gallery. * Liaise with CVAC hanging crew to schedule exhibit set-up and takedown. * Act as the primary contact for renters and respond to inquiries from the general public regarding gallery exhibitions and programs. * Develop a contact list and promote the spaces to prospective renters in B.C. * Manage contracts and schedules for galleries and workshop space. * Work with CVAC board and other arts organizations to develop innovative programming including member shows. * Manage recruitment, scheduling and development of volunteers * Maintain clear records of volunteer hours and contacts Skills * Excellent computer literacy and knowledge of basic office procedures * Demonstrated experience in training, coaching and supporting others * Demonstrated experience managing an art space or art project * Experience in the non-profit arts sector an asset * Social media skills an asset Deadline: Aug. 5 Send your resume and cover letter to the Cowichan Valley Arts Council president@cowichanvalleyartscouncil.ca
