Job Description: Welcoming travellers to their home away from home in Victoria. Taking and changing room reservations via email, phone or in person. Use of hotel management software including processing guest arrivals, departures and receiving payments Helping to resolve any guest complaints and concerns (as well as accepting lavish praise and compliments!). Providing information about our facilities and services as well as general information about points of interest in the area. Providing excellent customer service. Working in a casual (yet highly organized) environment with guests and staff from all walks of life and all over the world. Night Audit and cash handling. Working with our night cleaner and the bartender of our lounge. Liaising with our managers, both by email and in person to help solve any night time issues. Training on daytime front desk shifts and working the occasional shift. Possibility of advancing to night manager. ...and most importantly, providing a safe, friendly and fun environment for our global travellers. The Fine Print: The shifts are five nights of 11pm to 7am. Guaranteed 40 per week. We're flexible with scheduling and time off, even during the summer. Hospitality industry discounts and freebies in Victoria and the region. Compensation is $16/hr, plus commissions. Qualifications & Qualities: Some experience with night shifts and in the service industry essential. Experience in the hostel/ hotel/ hospitality industry preferred. The ability to stay up all night! Friendly and welcoming. Calm, but firm when necessary. The ability to work and successfully problem solve without supervision.
