1984. Framed size: 16" X 12" A prolific Canadian Gitxsan First Nations (Tsimshian Indian) painter, printmaker, draftsman, carver and jewellery maker, Danny Dennis (aka: D.M. Dennis) was born in Port Essington, B.C.; raised in Hazelton, B.C.; and also lived in Vancouver, B.C. Dennis was a self taught artist who began working professionally in 1978. His mediums included acrylic paint, watercolors, graphite, ink, pencil, serigraph*, gold, silver and ivory. His subjects were figures, animals, birds, sea creatures, fantasy, legend and mythology. His styles were Formline* Design and Realism* and frequently a combination of both in the same work.
