For sale is my 1997 Ford escort LX. I have had it since October as I was new to the country but recently got a great deal so I upgraded. When I got it, it was knowing that some work was needed and since I have had it I have had the following fixed or replaced: -New fuel tank pump -Some new front suspension components -New front brake pad set -Wheel alignment The Pros: -The car is sitting at around 235,000km which is very good for the year and it drives very well, surprisingly nippy and responsive. -No driving faults, automatic transmission is smooth -The car is the LX version which means it has good features for the year including full electric Windows, electric mirrors, keyless entry/alarm and attached roof racks. -It comes with a spare tire/jack, a privacy cover for the trunk and the original manual - Comes with a few assorted spare parts I got from the previous owner, I also bought the Haynes repair manual which is very useful to have for any repairs or learning about fixing cars The Cons: - Fuel gauge does not work so I have just been making sure to refuel every 350km (highway driving) - The blower no longer functions but the hot, cold and AC was fine before the motor stopped. - There is a very small weep in the drivers side radiator tank, I've gone through one bottle of coolant in the 8 months I've had the car. She isn't pretty cosmetically, there's dents, body chips, scratches to plastic and a badly replaced side mirror but there's no significant rust. Would be an excellent cheap car for a student or first time driver $500 or best offer
