$29 · Fabulous Vintage Art Deco bowl/bulb planter with silver rim - Coronet Ware

Great nearly-antique vintage (1920s-1940s?) porcelain bowl with a silver-plated metal rim. Made in England - Coronet ware, Parrott & Company of Burslem, Staffordshire. I've seen these referred to as a planter, a crocus pot, a ferner/fernier or a cache-pot. Put a plant in it, flowering bulbs in the spring, use as a fruit bowl ... Will make an elegant and unique gift! Very stylish and well made with wonderfully complex details in the shape and design. The bowl is 5 sided. A circular opening, at the top of the bowl, is finished with a 1.5cm high, EPNS (Electroplated Nickel Silver) metal band. Cream colour base with orange borders and a beautiful art deco floral design in orange, mauve, blue, green, yellow and black. Very vivid, very cheerful. This bowl is in excellent condition given it's age, with no chips, cracks or restoration. There is remarkably little crazing on the inside and 4 of the outer sides. One of the sides has more visible mild crazing. THe metal rim is in perfect condition, no dents. This lovely piece has survived beautifully through the years. It is a real gem!
