For Sale/Trade here is a very rare set of Audio speakers in NOS condition, the original MSRP on these was $5500 USD. Using the inflation calculator and US exchange rate these work out to $9000 CAD in 2018 dollars. 100dB efficient, these are ideally designed for tube amplification but they also work well with solid state gear, I had them with my Naim system and the sound was very impressive. You will likely never see another set anywhere for sale that are literally in new condition like these. The Cabinets are unique - made from a heavy Corian type material called Gibraltar that looks and feels like stone/granite and is cold to the touch, these are are a very heavy inert cabinet (66 lbs without bases, 82 lbs with base, base made of same material). The BRENTWORTH Type I loudspeaker utilizes a single 6.25 inch (158 mm) dynamic driver and BSL's proprietary loading system to achieve spectacular results. These loudspeakers do not employ crossovers, instead the enclosure design manages the driver to provide optimal damping at all frequencies. Elimination of the crossover has many benefits. Group Delay and Phase distortion are virtually eliminated, the complex impedances introduced by crossovers are eliminated, and the power losses of the crossover are eliminated. The results are a speaker with exceptional transparency, integration and efficiency. The entire musical spectrum is connected. The transient response adds an entire dimension to the audio experience. The flat impedance makes the Type I a very easy speaker to drive. Recommended power is 3 watts to 100 watts. Bring your amp and have a listen! These speakers offer crystal clear detail and reveal parts to songs that I overlooked before with other speakers, they are a pleasure to listen to. I removed the original black foam that was covering the driver as age had caused deterioration and replaced it with an acoustic mesh covering as shown in photos.
