Log In needed $50 · F-86 Canadair Sabre 2 Signed James F. Edwards Ace Aviation Art PrintReport Ad
Open edition aviation art print of a Canadair CL-13 Sabre signed by Canadian ace JAMES "Stocky" EDWARDS and artist JOHN COWAN. A graceful and efficient jet fighter, the Sabre equipped many of the world's air forces from 1951 until well into the 1960's. The Canadian CL-13 Sabre was built under licence by Canadair Ltd. Of Montreal. The Mark 2 was equivalent to the North American F-86E and was the first variant to enter RCAF service. While most of its fame came from USAF operations in Korea, RCAF Sabres served primarily to fulfill Canada's NATO obligations in western Europe.
This beautiful drawing shows Sabre 19325 of RCAF 430 (Silver Falcon) Sqn., No.2 Fighter Wing, at the time of Operation Leapfrog (Sept-Oct, 1952) when the wing re-deployed to Grostenquin, France. This was the personal aircraft of W/C J. F. "Stocky" Edwards. A limited number of prints signed by Wing Commander Edwards are available.
W/C Edwards is Canada's highest scoring living ace.
