$12,345 · Entertainment Technician Level 2 - Stage

This is a position for an individual with previous entertainment stage management and technical experience. Working with other technical staff and reporting to the Entertainment Manager, this individual will be involved in coordinating and supporting entertainment activities at The Butchart Gardens. The successful applicant will utilize their stage management experience to assist with setting up the stage and preparing for the artists arrival, loading in performers and their equipment, looking after the needs of the performers, and assisting with the technical aspects of the performances as required. This position requires some basic knowledge of stage lighting and the ability to execute simple lighting cues. The ideal candidate would also possess a theatrical lighting background, as this would be a definite asset. This position is also involved with assisting in the technical needs of the weekly summer fireworks show. The successful candidate will work within the Entertainment department and with other Gardens staff, and requires excellent communication skills, substantial initiative, and the ability to make decisions. As some heavy lifting will be required, suitable physical fitness is a necessity. The workday will primarily be afternoons and evenings with occasional long days and overtime.
