Job Description About the Job Industrial Plankton designs and manufactures cutting-edge industrial bioreactors to automate the production of live microorganisms, algae and zooplankton. Our equipment is used in aquaculture to produce live feeds hatcheries, and in biotech to produce high value products. * We have an opening for a skilled individual, passionate about automation, electrical systems, and electronics. * * The Embedded System Designer will become a key part of the team responsible for designing embedded and power distribution systems used on automated biotech equipment. * * You must meet the eligibility criteria for the youth employment program: https://nrc.canada.ca/en/support-technology-innovation/nrc-irap-funding-hire-young-graduates * Responsibilities Design and review of PCB fabrication and assembly packages Troubleshooting and building electrical prototypes and production circuits Soldering THT and SMA circuits Wiring diagrams and assembly procedures for variety of products System networking and communications Assisting with assembly and quality control of electrical systems Sourcing and developing sensors and actuators Assisting with control system software development * Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, a related discipline, or Diploma in Electrical/ Electronics Technology 2+ years experience with Embedded and Electrical Design * * Valuable Experience for the Role Drafting/ Modelling electrical circuits and wiring diagrams PCB Design and layout using KiCAD, Altium Aptitude for Programming (C, C#, Python, VB .NET, Ladder Logic) Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and industrial automation Hands-on electrical wiring experience Precision hand soldering Applying machine vision and image processing techniques Knowledge of Canadian and international electrical codes Understanding of industrial environments and production * * * * * Benefits: Extended health care Job Type: Full-time
