Early Childhood Educator

Cathedral School Childcare and Jr. Kindergarten is accepting applications from qualified applicants to join our team of early learning enthusiasts at our Gordon Head and our Fairfield locations. This will be a temporary position beginning in June and continuing through to the end of August 2020. The positions may be extended. We are also seeking on-call educators. The successful candidates will be energetic, enthusiastic about children's learning, creative, flexible and demonstrate a deep caring for all children. They will be a team player, who can learn from and share ideas with the rest of the ECE team. They are knowledgeable about positive behaviour support strategies, nature-based programming, and building positive long-term professional relationships. This position is for the following locations: * Gordon Head location at 1806 San Juan Avenue, Victoria, BC. * Fairfield location at 1670 Richardson Street, Victoria, BC Requirements: ● Current Early Childhood Education (ECE) and License to Practice in BC ● Two exceptional work-related references ● A resume including a record of work, volunteer, and education history ● Copies of supporting documents and certificates Emergency Child Care First Aid Certified ● The successful candidate will need to undergo a criminal record check for working with children and vulnerable adults ● Evidence that you have complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs ● Excellent verbal communication skills ● Ability to work very well in team settings ● Ability to follow instructions and willingness to assume and carry out assigned tasks and to be accountable for results and actions, including quality of work ● Ability to appreciate diversity, different opinions, lived experiences, backgrounds, and personality types ● Dependable, including the ability to maintain good attendance, be reliable and punctual ● Professional, with a positive work attitude Wage and Benefits of working for CCCJK ● $19.00-$21.00/hr dependent on experience and qualifications, plus $2 per hour as part of the Provincial wage enhancement program Please reply by email.
