The Solstice is a classic performance touring kayak that has long been a staple on the West Coast. Made by Current Designs, a company started by Ocean River's one and only Brian Henry, this kayak slices and glides effortlessly over the water and has more than enough room for any multi-day trip. The hull is designed with a soft chine making edging easier at all angles, and the length of the hull, shape of the bow and folding rudder make this boat track incredibly well. This is one of the last boats built in Victoria. Current Designs built this boat in 2004, and I bought it in the fall of 2005. Since I've owned it, it has seen very little use, has spent most of its life being stored indoors, so it is in excellent condition. The GT is suitable for larger framed people and being a high volume boat it has enough equipment storage for multi-day trips. The boat is 17'7'' long and weighs 54 pounds. The boat comes with basic safety equipment: throw rope, & paddle float, I have other equipment, spray skirts, paddles, etc. which are being sold separately and can be viewed when viewing the boat
