As part of the Canada Summer Jobs program, the DVBA is looking to hire a Culture and Events Assistant to support our arts, culture, and events programs. If you are an outgoing and organized people pleaser who is ready to take on the task of coordinating, and promoting special events designed to increase brand awareness of Downtown Victoria amongst businesses and visitors throughout the Greater Victoria area, then this is the perfect role for you! Areas of responsibility: Assisting with marketing research, event communications, and events promotions Attending strategy and planning meetings with our in-house marketing and events team Promoting the DVBA's programs and events by developing marketing and promotional materials - this includes photography, videography, writing for the web, and social media (and other related duties) Working closely with the in-house team to ensure marketing and event engagement goals are reached Providing coordination and project management to ensure event promotion success Actively participating in the DVBA's events, such as: Car Free YYJ, Buskers Festival, and the Pride Parade Hands-on, training, and mentoring will be provided during your eight-week employment term.
