JOB POSTING - June 2020 Position Title: Counsellor Hours: 37.5 hours per week Start Date: As soon as possible Term: Permanent Full Time Locations: Victoria, BC Salary: The wage will be determined based on Bridges salary guideline, and level of experience; a comprehensive extended health and dental benefits package is available upon completion of the probationary period Closing Date: Open until filled Summary: Bridges for Women Society serves the communities of southern Vancouver Island and the south Gulf Islands that are located on the traditional territories of the Lkwungen (Esquimalt and Songhees), Malahat, Pacheedaht, Scia'new, T'Sou-ke and W̱SÁNEĆ, (Pauquachin, Tsartlip, Tsawout, Tseycum) peoples. Bridges is a gutsy, innovative nonprofit inspiring diverse women impacted by violence or abuse, to reclaim their lives and build economic stability. Bridges draws on its extensive knowledge of the impacts of abuse on employability, to provide education, training and consulting to community agencies, employers and government. Bridges for Women Society is looking for a dynamic and skilled woman to join our team. We are seeking an experienced, registered counsellor to provide trauma-informed, therapeutic counselling supports to women-identified survivors of trauma, abuse and neglect. This individual will be passionate about this work and versatile and comfortable working virtually and out of multiple locations, including the Westshore and local First Nations communities. In addition to providing individual counselling, this individual is also a skilled facilitator, and able to facilitate both counselling and psychoeducational groups in our various program areas.
