THE ROLE Following adult principles of learning, the Clinical Manager will design, enhance and provide staff orientation, education, clinical consultation, development, and evaluation. The Clinical Manager will consult, confer and collaborate with program and team members as well as other educators, and leaders at educational institutions in promotion of continuous quality improvement, and coordination of activities required for progressive educational and clinical practice programs. Key aspects of the role include MDS education, utilization and auditing of data. This position will support program development, quality improvement, and best practices. EDUCATION, TRIANING & EXPERIENCE * Completion of registered nurse or licensed practical nurse education program AND on the job training OR a formal MDS coordinator training program. * Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or other applicable degree required. Combination of education and experience will be considered. * Eligibility for registration with British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM) is required. * Valid B.C. Driver's License as local area travel is required between all 4 Care Homes. SKILLS AND ABILITIES * Knowledge of clinical practice standards and theoretical educational frameworks and their role in client care. * Knowledge and demonstration of skill in the provision of evidence-based clinical practice. * Demonstrates understanding of adult learning principles though excellence in the learning needs assessments, as well as the designing and delivery of diverse learning strategies addressing multiple learning styles. * Demonstrated ability to teach, demonstrate, facilitate and lead. * Demonstrated ability to develop education programs and materials. * Demonstrates advanced clinical knowledge and experience in palliative care. * ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing. * must be eligible to work with vulnerable adults under the BC Criminal Records Review Program.
