The program area include licensed group child care for school-age program and holidays camps. The program is designed for children ages 6-12 and runs Monday to Friday, 7:00am-9:00am and 2:30pm-6:00pm. The Child & Youth Care (CYC) Worker is expected to build relationships with children, youth, and families within their designated programs while ensuring an inclusive engaging and safe environment. The CYC Worker is responsible for preparing and implementing intentional programs while complying with licensing regulations and agency policy and procedures. The successful candidate will bring to their role energy, creativity, dependability, organization, a passion for empowering all children and a general attitude of support to the Boys and Girls Club as well as the community served. Qualifications * Minimum of 20 hours of training or courses in one of the following areas: child development, guidance, health and safety, or nutrition. * Minimum of one year experience working with children and youth ages 6-12 (camp or licensed child care setting an asset) * Demonstrated innovative and intentional program planning and a preventative approach to behavioral management * Excellent communication skills * Current Standard First Aid certification/CPR C * Reliable transportation * A criminal record check will be processed prior to employment Job Information * Wage: $17/hour + 4% vacation pay * Term: ASAP - June 25th, 2021 * Hours: 27.5 hours/week * Location: Crystal View Club, 2662 Silverstone Way, Victoria, V9B 6A6 * Job Opportunities: Comprehensive professional development * To apply: Submit your resume and cover letter stating the position that you are applying for to employment@bgcvic.org * The posting will remain open until the position is filled.
