***Full for now, please contact us if you would like to be on our waiting list****
We have a Sportsman GFQ 1502 available for incubation and hatching of your chicken eggs on our farm. We've run several batches of our own eggs and have gotten great results. It comes with automatic turners and an auto humidity kit for precise incubation and hatching conditions.
This model it is best used all-in all-out (rather than introducing new eggs weekly) so that humidity levels can be set for incubation and then raised at lockdown for hatching. It can hatch up to 180 chicken eggs at one time.
The 'bator is cleaned with Virkon between each batch.
We ask $1.50 per egg in and $1.50 per chick hatched with a minimum of 24 eggs set. You must pick up your chicks within 48 hours of hatching. If you wish, we can brood them for you for up to 3 days at $5.00 day (heat lamps and organic feed). We cannot brood them longer than this.
Incubation humidity is set at 45-55% and eggs are automatically turned once hourly. At lockdown, humidity is increased to 65-75%, turners are turned off and eggs are placed in hatching trays. If your eggs are the only ones in the incubator and you wish to have custom humidity levels we will do our best to accommodate your wishes.
If eggs from multiple people are being incubated we can set an incubation day such that hatchlings will be ready to be picked up on a Saturday.
We candle on day 10 and will update you by email on development at that time. Our ability to check development depends on egg colour; we will do our best with very dark or colour-layered (such as olive eggs) eggs but cannot guarantee accuracy with these eggs.
Please remember in order to increase the hatch rate, provide clean (but not washed!), fresh and properly collected, handled, and stored eggs for incubation.
We average a 90% hatch rate of eggs from our own farm that are fertile at 10 days.
