$18 · CCSS Walk Safer Team Lead

Camosun College Walk Safer: Team Lead Remuneration and hours: up to 15 hours a week at $18.62 per hour plus 4% vacation pay. Work hours may vary. GENERAL * Work with Campus Life, Campus Security, and the Custodians and their chargehands. * Organize and supervise patrol teams to work at both Lansdowne and interurban from 6 pm to 10 pm MONDAY TO THURSDAY from September to April. EXPECTATIONS * Partner with CCSS the Student Services Coordinator or designate for Patroller and Shift Captain hiring * Manage schedule and staff availability * Coordinate and complete payroll every 2 weeks * Regular check-ins with staff, in person, by phone and through management app * Weekly meetings with Shift Captains * Ensure equipment is stocked * Reliably reachable in the afternoons and evenings Monday to Thursday to manage any short notice conflicts * Support shift captains to carry out outreach on campus * Conducting outreach at welcome-fests at the beginning of each semester * Scheduling staff events OTHER DUTIES * Attend mandatory training sessions and other professional development opportunities * Organize and attend team meetings as determined by the Student Services Coordinator * Recruit and manage volunteers * Ensure that the program is running to the standard required by the coordinator as he/she designates and as the program requires change REQUIRED SKILLS * Demonstrate a good working knowledge of Camosun College Campuses * Be outgoing, friendly, and professional * Management experience or attested potential for management ability * Good written and verbal communication skills * Be able to work both independently and within a team * Respect for and enthusiasm about serving a diverse population * MINIMUM CLASS 7 (N) DRIVERS LICENSE and MUST be able to operate a golf cart The successful candidate will become a member of CUPE 2081.
