Breathing study seeking participants

I am seeking participants to volunteer for a breathing study as part of thesis requirement through the Canadian School of Osteopathy. I have completed the 5 year program in Vancouver and this is the final step towards certification. You may be interested in joining this study to help with breathing issues you may be experiencing through one of the interventions being studied. The purpose of this research is to understand the effects of osteopathic treatment and breathing re-training on individuals who self-identify as having breathing issues which may include: * Shortness of breath * Out of breath anxiety * Forced breathing or laboured * Excessive yawning to catch breath * A feeling of gasping for air or out of breath Eligible participants should be able to answer "No" to all of the following questions before taking part in this study: Do you have asthma? Do you use a ventilator? Do you smoke? Do you have COPD or other respiratory diseases? Do you have any diagnosed cardiac dysfunctions? Do you engage in a consistent breathwork practice e.g. yoga? Participants will be randomly selected for a group that does breathing exercises or a group that receives 3 osteopathic treatments. The group that does breathing exercises will receive a free treatment session at the end of the study. Participation time would be over a period of 4-6 weeks. Participants will be asked to do an online questionnaire first to determine if a breathing pattern disorder is recognized and then a spirometer test to measure lung capacity.
