Boom Truck Operator

Location - 1496 Admirals Rd, Esquimalt, BC V9A 2R1 Summary Slegg's Admirals location is currently seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual for the position of Boom Truck/ Mobile Crane Operator. The Boom Truck Operator transports products to job sites and places these materials in requested work locations. Together with other team members, the Boom Truck Operator works to exceed customer expectations. Key Responsibilities * Complete pre-trip truck inspections * Transport loads in a professional manner following the rules of the road and representing the company to the highest standards * Ensure proper vehicle and boom/ mobile crane maintenance and servicing * Verify load security and accuracy * Deliver materials to the satisfaction of customers and maintain an emphasis on safety, service, and efficiency * Safe operation of the boom/ mobile crane while loading and unloading * Communicate with customers and other trades on construction sites * Maintain contact with dispatch and work to resolve issues as they arise * Prepare trucks for reloading and assist warehouse staff as needed * Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers * Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures * Other duties as assigned by management Skills and Qualifications * Valid Class 1 or 3 driver's license with air brakes endorsement * Minimum two years of experience with a clean driver's abstract * Effective communication skills and ability to read and speak English * Knowledge of basic mathematics * Basic hand tool skills * Physical requirements include: o Ability to lift and carry up to 100lbs o Sitting and driving for long periods of time o Frequently climbing up and down stairs o Pulling, pushing, bending and torso twisting movements to transfer materials between truck and job site Compensation * Wages - competitive wages based on the market and experience * Benefits o Health benefits including drug and dental coverage, practitioners, vision, disability and life insurance o Retirement savings - RRSP or other * Perks - Company discounts (employee pricing, mobile phone plans, gym membership), recognition and training programs, opportunities for career advancement, group events and more
