Kashmiri carpets have a long history dating back to 1500. The weaver process involves stretching the warp tightly on a frame then passing the weft threads through the "talim" the design or the colour specifications. A strand of yarns is then looped through the warp and weft, knotted and cut. The yarn is normally silk, wool or cotton, in this case, polished cotton. The carpets are known for their soft colours and subtle designs. Bought in Delhi. Dimensions: 10.5 feet x 9.5 feet
