This is a hand built, custom made bass. No cnc, not even for the neck. This is the real deal, scratch built custom instrument. It's all done in my shop - gluing, cutting, sanding, finishing, fretting, assembly -- all of it. Inspired by classic model guitars, I wanted to build something a little different, and a little bit familiar - so it's sort of a 'Tele' style instrument but with an offset waist and modern styling. The body has a comfy tummy and forearm cut and soft round edges. The neck is instantly at home in your hands. It's not skinny but it's not chunky either. It's very, very comfortable.. The compact head stock is a 3+1 tuner arrangement with my hand-branded logo. The tone is classic '51 P-bass - classic, but better. Here's the details: * One piece Poplar body with mahogany accents. Hand finished, with a nice thin acrylic topcoat. It's been carved with a comfortable tummy cut and forearm cut. The control cavity cover is magnetic (no screws). * The neck is multi-piece cherry, walnut, maple, paduak laminate for stiffness and stability. It's capped with a matching poplar strip and head stock overlay. The fret board is edge-grain sycamore and has handmade walnut fret position dots. This neck has a zero fret, and a replaceable string retainer block. The frets were hand installed, and have been leveled, dressed and slightly polished. The neck is finished with a thin acrylic top coat. * The head stock is a compact 3+1 arrangement with hand branded logo. * The tuners are top quality lockers for tuning stability and balance. * There is a classic style four saddle bridge string-thru-body bridge that intonates perfectly. The saddles are chunky solid brass for big tone. The bridge plate and cherry end cap are made in my shop by hand. * The pickup is hand wound from Cavalier pickups. * The controls are minimalist - with a stacked tone/volume pot recessed into the body. * The thumbrest is also hand made in my shop from the same piece of cherry as the bridge cap. * Includes new hardshell tear-drop case and Rotosound Swingbass 66 strings (stainless steel).
