This is a hand built, custom made guitar. No cnc, not even for the neck. This is the real deal, scratch built custom guitar. It's all done in my shop - gluing, cutting, sanding, finishing, fretting, assembly -- all of it. Inspired by classic model guitars, I wanted to build something a little different, and a little bit familiar - so it's a 'surf' style guitar with an offset waist, which is sleek and sxxy. The body has a comfy tummy cut and soft round edges. I made it a little thinner than the factory brands -- it allows me to use hard, dense, musically tone-ful wood but still produce a light comfortable guitar. The neck is instantly at home in your hands. I gave it a slightly asymmetrical shape that's fast and smooth. The compact head stock is a 4+2 tuner arrangement with my hand-branded logo. The tone? The tone is classic tele, but not quite. Classic tele, but better. Tele without the harsh bark, but all the full rich tones from classic single coil pickups. Here's the details: * Cherry and purple heart body with a book matched figured maple cap. Hand sprayed edge 'burst, with twenty thin coats of nitrocellulose lacquer. * The neck is three piece cherry with a birds eye maple fretboard. The fret markers are walnut with a purple heart twelfth fret marker. This neck has a zero fret, and a replaceable walnut tone block. The frets were hand installed, and have been leveled, dressed and slightly polished. The neck is finished in twenty coats of nitrocellulose lacquer. * The head stock is a compact 4+2 arrangement with hand branded logo. * The tuners are lockers, of course. * Classic style compensated thee saddle bridge that intonates perfectly. * The pickups are Canadian made by Tone Emporium with Alnico 5 sandcast magnets, scatter winding, and vacuum wax potting. * The switching is classic with a three position linear switch, Volume and Tone. * Includes new hardshell tear-drop case. *Update* - I have a choice of two black leather hand made guitar straps to go with this guitar. Each strap is unique, made by Bareback Leather on Salt Spring Island. This is a nice bonus to go with this guitar.
