Copper Owl is a vintage venue located in downtown Victoria, hosting a diverse lineup of events such as local and touring live bands, dance nights, LGTBQ events, private parties, karaoke, literary events and more! We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Bar & Events Manager to help oversee our operations and events, and to help our busy venue grow! Qualifications: - Minimum 1 year experience in management or supervising role in a bar environment. - Knowledge and interest in local craft beer, cider, cocktails, and wine. - Ability to enforce and adhere to Serving it Right standards. - Confident and efficient in managing staff, security, event organizers and performers. - Available 20 - 30 hours per week, with weekends and late nights as the priority. - Experienced in managing inventory and labour, using a POS system and maintaining a bar environment. - Excellent time management and problem solving skills. Leadership Responsibility: - Training and leading staff to ensure that operations run smoothly, bar environment is maintained, drink knowledge is consistent and events run smoothly. - Meeting with General Manager and Booking Manager to ensure that targets are being met and venue is running optimally. - Maintain inventory records and ensure products are stocked at all times. - Helping develop drink menus including local craft beer, cider, wine and cocktail development. - Overseeing events from start to completion, and ensuring that proper protocol is adhered to for setup and teardown. - Managing nightly cash outs and deposits. - Ensuring that bar equipment, sound equipment and furnishings are maintained properly. - Ensuring that customer issues are responded to and resolved professionally and efficiently.
