$85 · Authentic Antique BT Tub Bench

Originally designed as a folding wooden washtub bench, this authentic antique BT Tub Bench can be used as a mobile luggage rack. Fitted with metal castors, the bench has the following dimensions: length 42", width 16", and height 22". It is light in weight and thus easy to move. it is sturdy enough to hold a large full suitcase or duffle bag, or two medium-sized suitcases. It could also be refinished with tung oil, fitted with a glass top to be repurposed as a coffee table. The BT Tub Bench stencil is still clearly visible. This product was patented in 1923 and manufactured by Beatty Brothers of Fergus, Ontario. It was coveted by anyone doing laundry in the 1920s as it held two of the big laundry tubs used to wash and rinse laundry and could be easily wheeled around. This little bench worked well in our heritage house in Esquimalt but sadly doesn't fit the decor in the new house to which we are moving. It is being sold for less than what we paid for it.
