Apple Computer Technician

We are a small computer shop in Victoria, BC w/ a strong focus on friendly, no-pressure customer service and have a laid-back, positive work environment. We are seeking a F/T employee to work M-F 10 am-5:30 pm w/ the possibility down the road of working Saturdays. You will be responsible for diagnosing and fixing Apple laptop and desktop computers, both hardware and software issues. You will do this alongside our PC and iPhone techs. There will also be some customer service when checking in jobs and talking to customers in person/on the phone about their issues. Your position will be busy but not in a pressure-driven environment. Ideally you work well w/out supervision (after training period) and it will be up to you to be self-motivated and to manage your time/workload well. Good communication skills w/ customers, your fellow employees and your boss are essential. Some types of Mac jobs you will be responsible for: -Virus removals -Part replacements on laptops (SSD's, RAM, batteries, etc.) -Hard drive replacements on iMacs -OS installs/upgrades -Diagnosing hardware issues -Diagnosing software issues (mail, photos, etc.) -Testing Mac computers for resale -Providing quotes for repairs -Ordering parts Experience: Ideally you will have experience in some of: -Previous employment in a similar shop -Apple certification of some kind (ACMT, etc.) -Personal experience doing these types of repairs -You could also potentially have solid experience in PC repairs with a keen interest in developing the equivalent Apple skillset. Other beneficial skills: -Being organized; able to maintain a clean environment -Being detail-oriented; making sure jobs get done right the first time around -Time and job management; ability to complete your work w/out reminders -Self‐motivated; ability to work well w/out supervision -Friendly demeanor, with good verbal and written communication skills Salary/Benefits: -$16-20/hr depending on experience/amount of training required.
