Speaker and amplifier in enclosure. Takes 120V AC input (cord included) or 12V DC (cord not included). It is marketed as a car subwoofer, but the bass is not so impressive to be honest. It includes a remote, but I think you need an external IR receiver to make it work. My son had fun using it with his tablet for a while but now he wants to sell it.
Purchased off Amazon about 6 months ago for $40.
