$50,000 · Amazing Mexican casita

If you like fishing and small towns, you will love this. The Orchard is a secured complex consisting of about 80 cottages similar to ours. We pay a small annual strata fee that covers grounds maintenance and a 24 hour security patrol (not that it is needed!). Mulege is a seaside town just above Loreto on the Sea of Cortez. Population is about 3,500, plus a few hundred US and Canadian retirees (six of us from Sidney, and half a dozen more from Vancouver Island.) Beautiful beaches starting a ten minute walk along the estuary, and many others just a 15 minute drive along the Baja de Conception. Our casita is turnkey, just move right in. My wife is down there for the next three weeks, so you are welcome to stay in the casita to see how it feels. The village has many excellent restaurants and roadside taco carts, and there are organic farms close by where you can fill up with fresh veggies and just-picked fruits for next to nothing.
