** Broadmead Care will accommodate up to 1.3 FTE for multi-site employees ** Hourly Wage: $23.96-27.91 (temporary wage levelling of $24.54-$27.91 per MHO Labour Adjustment Plan) Location: Veterans Memorial Lodge - Saanich Position #/Schedule: 108297 - Adult Day Program, Set A, noon-8:00pm, days to be determined (1.0 FTE) *Does not work stats* Status: Temporary Term Comp #: 2021-39 Closing Date: March 7, 2021 JOB DESCRIPTION: The Activity Worker selects, plans, implements, and evaluates a variety of activities, which assist in meeting the clients/residents social, recreational, intellectual, and physical needs, and works with and supports other team members, students, and registered volunteers assigned to the program. Participation in interdisciplinary case reviews and electronic charting also required. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: * Health Care Certificate or Licensed Practical Nurse, or equivalent -- with one of the following is preferred; o Activity Worker Certificate; OR, o Graduation from a recognized Activation Certificate or Recreation & Leisure Program; OR, o 3rd or 4th year university education in a relevant field; such as Recreation and Health; Kinesiology; Social Work; Child and Youth Studies; Mental Health; Education; OR, o Secondary school graduation supplemented by appropriate courses related to the duties to be performed; OR, o Graduation from an approved college or vocational Institution with an appropriate diploma or equivalent Experience: * Related experience working with geriatric clients in a day / community program, or facility setting required * Knowledge of the therapeutic value of a particular activity * Work within an interdisciplinary team NOTES: * For questions related to the position, please contact HR at 250-658-3240 * Submit your resume with cover letter by response to this advertisement * Subject line in email should read 2021-39 AW temp term VML You can also express your interest in this opportunity at "Work With Us" through our website: www.broadmeadcare.com
