Randstad is looking for an Accountant Clerk for an Insurance Firm in Victoria We are looking for an ambitious Accounting Clerk to provide support to the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks. You will be part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the company's finances. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and attention to detail. Reporting to the Assistant Manager - Accounting, the Accounting Clerk is responsible for reconciling and payment of liability accounts that impact the balance sheet. Terms of employment: Full time Job Title: Accounting Job Type: Temporary with a possibility of becoming Permanent Hours: Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours/week Start Date: As soon as possible Location: Victoria, BC Job duties and Responsibilities: * Create daily and monthly journal enters and accruals including exporting and uploading * Reconcile balance sheet and revenue accounts * Investigate and resolve variances with internal staff * Provide supporting documentation for auditors * Review and issue client refunds * Assist with report preparation Qualification and Experience: * Proficient in Microsoft Excel; Pivots, V-look ups * Minimum 3 years' experience in an accounting role including reconciliations and journal entries * Accounting Certificate is an asset Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to work to deadlines * Detail oriented, strong problem solving skills and dispute resolution capabilities * Proficient in computerized accounting systems and the principles and practices of accounting * Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
