2018-101 Head of Reception

JOB OPPORTUNITY - FULL TIME (This is a Union position) POSTING #2018-101 HEAD OF RECEPTION Oak Bay Recreation Centre Reporting to the Supervisor, Reception Services, the successful candidate is responsible for establishing a warm and friendly atmosphere for all visitors and staff and performing secretarial duties as requested by the Supervisor and Centre Coordinator and Programmers. Responsibilities: * Ensures effective operation of the office including program registrations, admissions, transfers, rentals, refunds, cash handling, auxiliary payroll and secretarial duties; * Answers enquiries, both in person and by telephone about all Recreation Oak Bay facilities and programs in a warm and informative manner; * Trains, delegates, and provides supervision to Receptionists; * Prepares monthly reception schedules in conjunction with the Supervisor. Qualifications: * Graduation from senior secondary school; * Minimum two years stenographic experience/receptionist experience, plus experience in a supervisory/leadership role; * Extensive experience dealing with the public; * Warm, outgoing personality and good communication skills; * Ability to work independently and without close supervision; * Accurate keyboarding skills of 45 wpm and proficiency in MS office software and computerized registration systems; * Current BC Driver's License; * Current CPR 'C' and OFA Level I certifications; * Provision of a current criminal record check. Hours: 35 hours/week: Sunday: 9:00-5:00 pm Monday-Thursday: 10:00am-6:00pm Hours may vary to meet operational requirements.
