Big brother to the DRZ. A bike that carries a load well. Happy running 2-up, and with a seat that is long enough to be comfortable doing it. 450+ km range! Of the bikes I've ridden offroad, this bike really does feel something like a long-distance off-road racer.
These are a fun ride, torque every-where, but not a boring flat-line torque curve like a KLR or DR650. That said, they are tall bikes, and they vibrate. The vibes didn't bother me, but the same isn't true for everyone.
This bike came to me from the 640 guy in Campbell River (DW), who did some refurbishing of the suspension. He, a brit, and I rode up to Inuvik (and past) last summer. Of the 35,000 km on the odo, about 12,000 is from my riding last summer (e.g. last two pix)
Front bags ARE included. They're home-made slings that carry a 10L MEC dry bag. The real point of these it to shift some weight forward. I carried my tools on one side, and most of my food on the other.
Rear rack was custom/home made (not by me) for this bike. Rear bags are not included... only shown for demonstration purposes. Top bag is a big dry duffle from MEC, and the side paniers are nelson rigs ... available from fortnine for $230
(Tires are mitas E-07s, new last summer, but 8000+ km on them.)
