1998 Pontiac Montana Sport
283 200 km
Bought in Golden two years ago, this van did us well going up and down a ski hill in minus 20 (engine always starts) and then drove us comfortably across half of BC. It's coped well on all terrain in the past and has been our commuter on the island for the past year.
We have receipts from work done by us and by the original owner, including the replacement of the cylinder head gasket which is one of the big flaws of this model and an expensive fix you won't have to worry about.
The van was assessed by an auto shop in Victoria in January and the mechanical inspection and list of work that needs to be done is available, it includes needing shocks, struts, bushings and sway links.
Priced low because of this, it would be a good project for someone who can do the labor themselves.
Includes an additional set of rims. We bought two new winter tyres in January 2018 but probably safe to assume all tyres are ready to be replaced.
-Windscreen has a long crack in it, has never been an issue with visibility.
-Some wear and tear to the body as seen in pictures and a dent in the back where someone must have reversed into the parked van (only visible when the light catches it!)
- Back windscreen wiper doesn't work, replaced the motor in it once and it broke again so didn't bother again.
-One of the sliding back doors is automatic and opens with a button inside or with the fob, the other is manual.
-Has two back seats which we bought recently (2nd hand) to replace the camper set up we had previously.
She runs (with a pull to the left) but is not currently insured as we just bought a new car.
She's an old girl needing some love and an absolute legend, we'll be sad to see her go!
