Made by the Fujigen guitar company, under contract with Fender, when the quality was as good, or even better, than the Fender instruments being produced at the time. This started in 1982 with the "JV" series guitars and then led into the 1983/84 "SQ" serialed guitars. The records kept on these serial numbers were not as specific as to identify what month, year, production number, etc like serial numbers with other manufacurers. The "SQ" serial numbers only identify that the guitars were made between 1983-1984, which is close enough, being that it was such a short run. The "JV" series Stratocasters were a "vintage" styled reissue, with small headstock, square neck plate, etc. The "SQ" series Stratocasters (like this one) were a 70's style reissue with the large headstock, three-bolt neck plate, bullet truss rod, etc. Includes case.
