FoodSaver vacuum sealer Model Vac 550 DC. This machine vacuums out the air from a bag and then heat seals the opening. Without the air food keeps many times longer than it would normally. It has a vent to which a tube is placed and attached to a device that lets you vacuum seal various size containers. (Available ot additional prices) These are useful for vegetables or fruit or spices and preserves them about 5 times longer than if not sealed. We have used one for about 30 years and they work wonderful. They can also be used to seal canning jars with a special top accessory. This unit is clean and seals fine. There is an indicator light which goes on green when the vacuum process is ended. Then it goes out and the machine shuts off then release button. Pictures 1 to 4. Vacuum Sealer - PHILIPS KB 1000. This vacuum sealer has 3 indicator lights, Vacuuming, sealing and sealed. They all work. The bags seal fine. However, even though there is the sound of a motor and the red indicator light goes on, I cannot get the bag to vacuum. I dont know if it is just methat cant figure it out or if the machine is defective. In any event it is sold as is. Other than that it is in good condition.
