SQL Developer

Megabyte Systems is the developer of the Megabyte Property Tax System (MPTS), a fully integrated, California property tax system. With over 30 years in business, Megabyte is a stable, progressive, low-stress company with an open and dynamic work environment. We are currently acquiring new clients and require a permanent, full-time senior SQL developer for Megabyte's Greater Victoria, B.C. office to assist in the conversion of our clients' data into Megabyte's format. You will: Develop SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions and triggers Troubleshoot SQL scripts Maintain and improve existing programs, SSIS packages and SQL stored procedures Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements and suggest new queries Design relational databases and ensure their stability, reliability and performance Troubleshoot common database issues Work with other developers to optimize SQL statements and establish best practices Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to deploy and release quality products to Megabyte's clients You are: A College Diploma Graduate with a minimum of 3 years experience as an SQL developer Self-motivated, detail-oriented, creative and curious Comfortable working alone and as part of a team Skilled at planning, scheduling and prioritizing your workload Committed to meeting deadlines and delivering projects on time You need: A College Diploma Graduatein computer science, computer engineering, other technical discipline or equivalent work experience Proficiency with SQL using MS-SQL 2012 and up, including Complex T-SQL programming Experience with and a strong knowledge of relational databases Skill at optimizing large, complicated SQL statements Familiarity with and understanding of code versioning tools Strong written and oral communication skills Excellent time management skills and multi-tasking abilities Not necessary, but nice to have: Experience as an SQL administrator Experience with Transactional SQL and Replication Experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high-availability service Experience in data conversion processes Experience in managing internal and external MS SQL database security Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
