Caboose Club Out of School Care is hiring Before and After School Care Leaders. Caboose Club is a non-profit program operated by the Cordova Bay Out of School Care Society, located at Cordova Bay Elementary School at 5238 Cordova Bay Road. We are looking to hire OSC staff that is reliable and committed to providing the best possible care to school age children through safety and best practices. The position requires working with children in a 10:1 ratio, responsible to ensure the safety and supervision of the children at all times, follows a paradigm of Positive Behaviour Support, preparation and facilitation of snacks, activities, crafts and games, reports directly to the Program Coordinator and/or Manager; demonstrates clear, consistent and open communication with children, staff, and parents at all times. General cleaning duties and additional tasks may be required. To Apply for this Position, you must meet the following criteria: - 19 years of age or older, due to the nature of this work - First Aid or CPR - Immunization Records - Minimum of 20 hours of training in the area of Child Development, Nutrition, Health and Safety or Guidance. Acceptable proof of such courses includes transcripts, certificates, and is required. - 2 reference letters (or contact information) related to the child care field - Reliable transportation is an asset. While our centre is accessible by public transit, the schedule tends to be infrequent, and may not be convenient for commuting to and from shifts.
