For sale this very large Ancient Roman Brooch with the original moving pin. 1st Century AD. Made of Iron. 80.3 mm long. 18 grams. Fibula, brooch, or pin, originally used in Greek and Roman dress for fastening garments. The fibula developed in a variety of shapes were based on the safety-pin principle. Plus this very nice ancient Roman coin struck for ROMAN EMPEROR LICINIUS. Struck Jan-Feb 313 AD. Emperor Licinius laureate head to the right. Jupiter standing facing, head left, holding Victory on a globe & sceptre; at feet left, an eagle with a wreath in its beak, officina letter " A " right Licinius I, was the Roman emperor from 308 to 324. For the majority of his reign he was the colleague and rival of Constantine I, with whom he co-authored the Edict of Milan that granted official toleration to Christians in the Roman Empire. BRONZE. 20 mm.
