These Garry Oak slabs have been salvaged from urban properties and cut on a bandsaw mill to varrying thickness. The largest slabs are 12' by 3.25" thick and approx 45" across There are many smaller sized slabs of varying lengths and widths from 12' down to 3' long, and around 20" in width down to around a foot. They have been sticker stacked and air drying for at least 18 months, and in the case of the larger slabs, the trees had been down for 2 years prior to milling. Moisture content seems to be between 11 and 13 % consistently. I built a bunk bed with live edge rails in December and they have remained true and flat in the indoor environment. It is a beautiful heavy and hard wood of the white oak family, with quite stunning grain variation between the sapwood (creamy) and the heart (caramel) Call for more info and pricing Slab flattening services and custom commissioned furniture (such as tables, mantle pieces, benches, wall hangings) are available.
