Beautiful tumbler by noted Mexican designer Salvador Teran of Taxco, Mexico, circa late 50's. The cup is made of wrought brass with glass paste "pate de verre" mosaic inlay with a brass Jaguar motif on each side, one of the sacred animals of the Mexican culture and mythology, in malachite/jade and black pieces of glass as the spots and eyes. Some signs of age and wear on the metal, no damage or repairs in overall very good condition. Marked "Handwrought, Hecho in Mexico, 8 1". 3" H x 3 1/8" in diameter. This is from the mid century modern era by a master of design.
