Vintage Robinson Ransbottom Pottery Large Covered Stoneware Casserole Blue Spongeware Wheat Pattern, made in Roseville, Ohio where quality pottery was made. I inherited 2 of these, I only have space for one so am selling one. PRICE REDUCED. A versatile and beautiful 2-1/4 quart covered casserole or crock made by RRP Co., Robinson Ransbottom, in Roseville, Ohio. It has blue spongeware on tan stoneware. There is a blue leaf design on the front. It is marked RRP Co. Roseville, Ohio U.S.A. on the bottom. It is a heavy piece and can be used to make sauerkraut, casserole recipes, beans, soup, and the like. It is in excellent, like new clean unused condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs. A gorgeous decorative and functional piece for your country style kitchen. It measures 9.5 inches wide from handle to handle, 8.5 inches in diameter, 6.5" inner diameter, 7 inches tall including the lid, 5.25 inches without lid. A LITTLE HISTORY: The Ransbottom brothers started a pottery in 1900 in Ironspot, Ohio. In 1920, they merged with the Robinson Clay Product Company of Akron, Ohio, to become Robinson-Ransbottom. At the beginning, Robinson-Ransbottom made jardinieres and red flower pots, then expanded into gardenware when it merged with the Robinson Clay Product Company. The factory closed in 2005.
